My Fate Often Lies In The Power Of Tit Tape

So this is my second boob related post in less than a year, I’m clearly all for embracing them. The nipple and bra-free look is trending and doesn’t seem to be going anywhere anytime soon. Especially with this weather.

The past few weeks, or is it months now? (I really can’t remember the last time it rained.) Have just become so. Damn. Hot! Being British and kind of ginger I am so OVER this heat now. I’ll probably want it back the moment it goes away but for now, I want it gone. The grass looks so barren, like something out of a Mad Max film, I’m starting to worry about the state of the world.

But this heat and imminent holiday season has paved the way for necklines to deepen, hemlines to rise and backs and straps to disappear completely, meaning our decency is in desperate need of help when it comes to being safely covered.

Wrap dresses are summer staples that have always been the bane of my life. I always blame my lack of chest for how they hang so unnervingly – I’m genuinely surprised I’ve not flashed everyone in my little town by now. But thanks to my very late, yet definitely needed discovery of tit tape, I can shimmy to my hearts content. Just check out the Insta of my new Topshop number, I actually danced in that thing!

As well as wrap dresses; I absolutely love a deep v on a night out. Whether it’s to the front or the back – with a lack of, or very subtle cleavage – I feel it gives us less endowed girls a sexy edge. It may be because I barely have boobs, I don’t know, but I personally have had a lot of issues with revealing a little more than I’d planned when it comes to pulling off these looks.

After a good 4 years of not using tit tape, or using inventive alternatives (which I do not advice), whereby my uni friends and I mastered the art of the masking tape bra – using it to cover nipples, push up boobs and keep them in place. Masking tape did all the work we needed it to, but not without getting terribly itchy or even shifting from its place when bars got hot. Believe me, scratching your boobs every 15 minutes is never a good look, neither is talking to cute guys with noticeably cream tape poking out your top.

But now I have finally found my fashion saviour.

It really has taken me long enough to get to this point. After showing my friends a tad too much of myself several times, forcing them to be on near constant boob watch, and deciding that mid-twenties calls for a bit more decency, I went on the hunt for some really good tape.

And I found some! Pre-cut adhesive strip body tape by Eylure is now my go to brand. It’s clear and even latex free! I got my pack from Boots for just £4.90. With 27 strips to use (half straight/half curved) they should last you a while. Come to think of it now I’ve written it, I don’t know why there’s an odd number?! You’ll eventually have one unsafe boob… Hmm something to look into I think Eylure.

They’re the easiest things to put on. Just like double-sided tape, place a strip where you want it (wearing the garment makes placement easier) remove the other side of the backing paper and press against the material. Voila! You’re safe to boogie the night away.

Annnnd as they are actually meant for skin they’re not itchy and even with weather like this or a boiling nightclub you don’t have to worry about them budging, I promise you. Tried and tested. There really is no end to their uses, you can use them with deep v’s, strapless numbers, backless pieces, even for an added little push up. Anything you want staying in a certain place, Eylure has you covered. Literally.

xoxo
